Daniel Charles “Dan” Montelius

Daniel Charles “Dan” Montelius, age 46, of Dubuque, Iowa, completed his earthly journey suddenly on February 8, 2023, at home.  To honor Dan’s life, a private family service will be held.  Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Dan’s family.

Dan was born on December 11, 1976, in Dubuque, IA, a son to William “Bill” and Marjorie (Petitgout) Montelius.  He was a proud graduate of East Dubuque High School and eventually took his love for playing games, while at the same time working on and building computers into his career as a computer technician with Dell and a couple of other companies.  In his younger years, Dan always enjoyed spending time on the river.  Countless memories and experiences were created while fishing and boating on the family houseboat at Massey Station.  We will miss Dan more than he could know and pray that he is now at peace in his eternal estate.

Dan was a very handsome young man, with a gorgeous smile and beautiful eyes! He looked a lot like Billy and his Mother. Such a sorrowful and unexpected end of his journey on earth, and so young, he had many wonderful years of life ahead of him. This is a devastating and heartbreaking loss for Bill and everyone who loved him. He will always be in their hearts. I will keep Daniel’s entire family in my prayers for a healing over time, with a Peace that surpasses all understanding.
I send my deepest condolences to Bill, Christina, Dan’s Children, Brothers and Sisters, and All of his Friends.
God Bless the Montelius Family and all Friends of Daniel Charles Montelius.

My deepest Christian sympathy to you and your family in the death of Dan. I was looking for an obituary in the TH, but must have missed it. I searched and found it to confirm it was your Dan.
I also sent the info to my son Craig, who as you remember, spent some time with Dan when they were in school.
It has to be so difficult to bury a child, no matter how old they are.
    Sincerely,
    Bob D.
