Daniel P. Burchfield

Daniel P. Burchfield, age 50, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on April 6, 2022, at home while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Daniel’s life, a Celebration BBQ will be held in June for his family and friends to gather in fellowship, food, and the memories which Daniel leaves behind.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Daniel’s family.

Daniel was born on June 5, 1971, in Abington, PA, a son to Patrick and Patsy (Johnson) Burchfield.  Daniel grew up with a love for family and friends being instilled firmly from a very young age.  He eventually made his way to Dubuque and after meeting his soul-mate, Carly Maskal, they were able to blend their families into one beautiful family and spend many wonderful years together.  His love and devotion for his wife, children, and grandchildren was continually on display for all to see.  In his early years, Daniel enjoyed working on cars and made a career out of it, but eventually his love for computers and technology drew him into the IT industry where he was able to invest almost 20 years perfecting his craft, with the last 5 years at the Molo Companies before his battle with cancer overtook his days.  Daniel was also a man who enjoyed his free-time and choose to use it wisely in all aspects of life.  His love for guitar and drums brought him many hours of joy, but you could also find him regularly practicing at the Dubuque Karate Club where he faithfully devoted his time and talents until his black belt was finally awarded with honor.  Daniel also enjoyed anytime he could spend with his family, with their home often full of children and camping trips being among their favorite activities together.  It’s with undeniably and tragically broken hearts that we must say farewell for now to our beloved Daniel.  His stubborn streak and sassy sense of humor fought as long and hard as they could, but the Lord has decided that He wanted Daniel with Him more than we needed Daniel with us.  In time we hope to understand this reality, but for now we will simply face the difficult days ahead with the abundance of wonderful memories he has left behind for us to treasure until we see his fun-loving smile once again.  Thank you, Daniel, for living life with a never surrender attitude and may peace from your earthly battles be yours, while prayers for strength and healing are ours.  We will love and miss you more than you could ever know!
