Katherine A. Wiebersch, age 79, of Dubuque, Iowa, completed her earthly journey on September 2, 2021, at Unity Point-Finley Hospital, in Dubuque. To honor Kathy’s life, a private Celebration of Life for close family & friends will be help at a later date in Dubuque. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Kathy’s family.

Kathy was born on February 19, 1942, in Le Mars, Iowa, a daughter to Fred and Rose Katherine (Bergin) Wiebersch. She spent many years as a grade school teacher, primarily in the Sioux City, Cherokee, and Waterloo school districts before she moved to Le Mars to be caregiver to her mother. She worked at Tyson’s for many years. She left many friends and family there to move to Dubuque to be close to her brothers and because she had a love for Eastern Iowa. Her heart was always in the classroom, and her beloved friends with special needs always brought joy to Kathy at ARC. She also enjoyed her time working for the sisters at Mt. Carmel. Her love for others was undeniable and any opportunity to spread a little light into someone’s day was what definitely drove Kathy. In her free-time, you could usually find her snuggled up with a good book, working on refinishing her latest antique project, or cheering on her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. Kathy never met a stranger and surrounding herself with others, especially her grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren, was all she really needed to find any day to be an absolute success. Her love for all things holidays was also a constant throughout her life. The seasons right around the corner are surely going to be a little less joyous without her determined and festive spirit at the table. We will miss our sweet Kathy moving forward, but we have no doubt that she will be helping to keep Heaven neat and tidy, with a Dr Pepper in hand, until we all meet her again. Thank you, Kathy, for all of the love and lessons that you leave behind and may the healing of our broken hearts, which we desire, be found in the treasure trove of memories.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Fred (Pat) Wiebersch; and her sister, Donna (Marty) Arens.

In honor of Kathy’s love and devotion towards others, memorials may be made in her name to ARC.
