Kevin E. Shaw

Kevin E. Shaw, age 64, of Dubuque, Iowa, completed his earthly journey on October 1, 2021, at MercyOne in Dubuque.  To honor Kevin’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Kevin’s family.

Kevin was born on November 22, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a son to Earl and Betty (Harold) Shaw.  He grew up with an active motivation to develop his sweet disposition into the very well-suited ability to make friends wherever he went.  Kevin was a carpenter by trade, but hitting the slopes in Colorado was also fair game if time and travels allowed.  His quick wit and sharp intellect were always ready at a moments notice and his ability to bring an unsolicited smile to the faces of everyone around him was truly uncanny.  Kevin had a soft spot in his heart for children and animals.  They would simply navigate towards him, and he would always respond with kind, open, and sincere arms.  Kevin eventually found his way to life on the shores of the Mississippi river and knew that he had finally found his home.  His soul was content through each day and the peace of the flowing river flowed through his heart as well.  We will miss our dear Kevin as he leaves us much too early for our liking, but we will eventually find peace in time within the memories which he leaves behind.  Thank you, Kevin, for helping us to understand that sometimes the simplest pleasures in this life are truly the most valuable and may the Lord grant you His everlasting grace and love until we all meet again.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Kevin include,

his 3 sisters,

Diane Shaw, Phoenix, Arizona,

Kathy (Eric) Whiver, Bagley, Iowa,

and Julie (John Rathbun) Shaw, Cedar Rapids, Iowa;

along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Betty Shaw.
