Linda D. Davis

Linda D. Davis

Linda D. Davis, age 72, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on October 26, 2024, at home, while surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Linda’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Linda’s family.

Linda was born on December 11, 1951, in Dubuque, IA, a daughter to Carl L. and Charlene A. (Dunkley) Davis.  She was gifted with a spirit of courage and found great joy in always being a little ahead of the curve in many areas in her life.  Linda spent the first 15 years of her working years with the Dubuque Packing Co., but eventually began working as an interior/exterior painter for a few years while perfecting her wallpapering talents too.  In time she decided to stretch her entrepreneurial wings and opened her first business, the Crescent Moon Coffee Shop.  She thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the regulars there and in time opened her second business, Storefront Flea Market where she was able to combine her work ethic with her passions.  Linda retired in 2019, but always looked back on all of her accomplishments with fondness as she laid the groundwork for so many women to follow in the generations to follow.

Linda also embraced life to the fullest whenever possible and surely understood that all work and no play can be a deafening approach to real joy in this life.  You could easily find her cruising down the road on her motorcycle on a nice day, but just as easily taking her chances at the poker table to see who truly possessed the skills to win that game.  She had an affinity for antiques as well and never passed up on a unique treasure when it came across her path.  But, for those who knew and loved Linda best, her greatest joy was in the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren.  Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother till the very end and the memories she leaves behind now will only help to heal the pain of her loss for those around her.  Thank you, Linda, for leading with boldness and bravery each step of the way and may we strive to carry on your legacy in our lives as well.  We will love you and miss you until the end of our days and may the Lord keep you secure in His loving arms until we all meet again.
