Mary L. Huseman

Mary L. Huseman, age 74 of Dubuque, completed her earthly journey on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at home, surrounded by her loving family.  To celebrate Mary’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Mary’s family.

Mary was born on June 14, 1944, in Dubuque, a daughter to Roger and Betty (Bresee) Sear.  Sadly, her father was called home when Mary was just a young girl, but thankfully her grandmother, Luella Sear lovingly stepped in to help raise the children.  Mary met her soul-mate, Edward “Ed” Huseman when the couple was just in their early teens and the two have not been separated since.  They were united in marriage on March 30, 1963 at St. Columbkille’s Church and were blessed with 55 wonderful years together, and 2 children.

Mary always had a natural knack for fashion and she eventually found a way to allow her God given talents to shine through for the benefit of others.  She sold Mary Kay for over 20 years and also spent over 16 years working at Younker’s in the accessory department.  Mary always took great pride in looking her best and whether she was headed over to Donut Boy, or out for an evening of dancing with Ed, you could be sure that she would always be the best dressed one in the room.

Mary was so much more than just an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, or a beautiful woman drawing attention in a room though; she was also a very spiritual woman who took her relationship with her Lord and Savior very seriously.  She always understood that was the one decision in this life which really mattered, and she consistently lived her faith through all of her words, thoughts and actions.  We will miss Mary’s gentle soul and generous personality, but we also know and trust that she is now safe in her eternal home resting within the redeeming presence of Jesus and her family, awaiting our eventual arrival.  We thank you Mary for all of the love you shared, the positive attitude you role-modeled and the countless lessons you have taught us; your legacy will surely live on in all of the lives you have touched throughout your 74 years among us.
