Patti Jo Leib

Patti Jo Leib, age 66, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on October 30, 2022, at Dubuque Specialty Care, while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Patti’s life, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1755 Delhi Street in Dubuque.  Family and friends are invited to join in fellowship one hour prior to the service from 10:00–11:00 a.m.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Patti’s family.

Patti was born on October 23, 1956, in Dubuque, IA, a daughter to Leonard L. Leib, Sr. and Rosina “Freda” (Ward) Leib.  She grew up with the knowledge that she had been gifted with some incredibly special traits and was eager to share them with the world around her. Patti was a proud graduate of the Hempstead Class of ’74 and spent many hours fulfilling her love of the water while on the swim team there, and on her favorite pair of water skis outside of school hours. She married in 1975, and during that marriage gave birth to two wonderful sons; Nathan and Nicholas. Patti spent her working years as a CNA and invested her time and talents at various facilities around the Dubuque area.  She was a people person through and through making countless friends throughout her career and life. Patti found great satisfaction in her dedication to those she cared for, uplifting them on a daily basis with her natural ability to light up the lives of everyone she touched. Patti had a love for animals, especially dogs, and was famously know as the “Dog Whisperer” to those around her.  She was also a part-time comedian in her mind and her sense of humor was endless and always on the mark.  Her abilities to drag you deep into the story and eventually hit you with the perfect punchline was legendary among all who knew and loved her.  Patti also enjoyed crocheting in her free-time and spending as much time as she could with her loved ones.  We will miss Patti dearly and have no doubt that she is dancing once again just as she always loved to do in her mortal body.

Thank you, Patti, for simply being the best “you” that anyone could ask for. We truly believe that the Lord has graciously wiped away every tear now and your perfect immortal body has His praises on your lips for all of eternity.

The family would like to thank all those who cared for Patti throughout her life, especially in her final days.  Life is rarely an easy journey on many levels. Having friends and family around who are willing to help carry the load of daily life alongside you, is a true blessing to be appreciated and acknowledged…Thank you!
