Rebecca L. “Beckie” Brady

Rebecca L. “Beckie” Brady, age 61, of Dubuque, Iowa, sadly completed her earthly journey suddenly on August 23, 2021, at home in the loving arms of her husband, James.  To honor Beckie’s life, a private graveside service will be held at the Shippy Cemetery in Grant, Michigan.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Beckie’s family.

Beckie was born on February 15, 1960, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a daughter to Charles and Sandra (Fields) Wiseman of Grant, Michigan.  She was born with a gentle heart and adventurous spirit which she vibrantly displayed for all to see throughout her entire life.  Beckie generously gave of her time and talents to those in need as a CNA in the Alzheimer’s units and drove school bus for 14 years during her earlier years in Michigan.  She eventually moved to Dubuque, after meeting her true love, James Brady, and soon found herself seeking new outlets to give of herself to others.  She served as a production assistant on many plays for the Galena Middle School Drama Department, later served as “Bus Mom” with the Galena High School Speech Team which she found to be a joyous and welcome opportunity, and helped out at Luigi’s Restaurant for a few years.  Beckie found these were also perfectly fine ways to spend her working days. But her greatest joy was visiting and enjoying her grandchildren, children, parents and family in Michigan. She made her God given intelligence look so easy, but always kept a humble attitude in all things.  Never had a challenge crossed Beckie’s path that she simply wasn’t willing and able to face and conquer.  Beckie’s quick wit, beautiful laugh, and ability to love without hesitance will surely abound abundantly through the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her.  Unfortunately, her Cows On Parade collection will now cease to continue growing and her feline companions will surely need a little extra attention, but thankfully every wonderful memory that Beckie has left behind for us to treasure will hopefully ease the unbearable pain we feel while we patiently await seeing her again.  Thank you, Beckie, for always embracing every opportunity that presented itself,  known or unknown, with courage and enthusiasm and may the lessons you’ve taught through your words, thoughts, and actions encourage us to replicate your “fully embrace life” attitude as well.
