Tanya D. Lafrenz

Tanya D. Lafrenz, age 48, of Maquoketa, completed her earthly journey on July 25, 2023, at Dubuque Specialty Care.  To honor Tanya’s life, a private family service will be held at a later date.

Tanya was born on May 22, 1975, in Tennessee, a daughter to Thomas A. and Brenda J. (McDaniel) Winslow.  She was gifted with a strong-will and unwavering determination to push through each and every battle life would bring along the way, and this trait was even more evident over the last couple of years as she faced her cancer head on the entire time.  Tanya was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who truly thrived on the time she was able to spend surrounded by her family.  Her heart was always turned towards love as her mind focused on reality; and the culmination consistently led her to the place where family was the most important gift in this life.  She enjoyed her time working with her friends at Dollar Tree, but Tanya was also content to spend  time in the yard making sure everything was organized and in proper order.  You could often find her taking her favorite little canine companion (Peanut) on walks, as well as escaping away for a weekend with her husband Jim whenever possible.  Tanya lived a full life and even through the trials, she always set a good example as to how to react to any situation as it arose.  We will miss Tanya more than words could accurately depict and are forever grateful for the memories we will truly treasure moving forward without her walking in our midst.  Thank you, Tanya, for simply being you and may your legacy live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved you until we meet again.
