Thomas P. “Tom” Urban, age 69 of Dubuque, Iowa completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at MercyOne Dubuque, surrounded by his loving family after a sudden illness.  To celebrate Tom’s life, a private family service is being held at a later date.  Burial will be in the Highview Cemetery in Epworth, Iowa.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Tom’s family.

Charlie Holm, Seaver Holm and Ella Kreimeyer;

Diane (Phil) Elliott, Des Moines, Iowa,

Amy (Paul) Ledlow, Cascade, Iowa,

Shirley (Steve) Dolphin, Cascade, Iowa,

Jane Nieland, Ankeny, Iowa,

and Matt (Laurie) Urban, Dubuque, Iowa;

his sister-in-law,

Verna Urban, Dubuque, Iowa;

along with numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Julie Scott; his brother, Mark Urban; and his brother-in-law, Mike Nieland.

Tom’s family would like to sincerely thank Captain Matt and Captain Emily Phelps at the Salvation Army for all of their love and support during these most difficult days, along with the doctors, nurses and staff at Hospice of Dubuque and the Mercy Hospital ICU and Comfort Care Team for all of their professional and genuine care of Tom and his family. 

In lieu of flowers, Tom’s family request any donations go to the Dubuque Salvation Army in his memory.
