The loss of a loved one is never easy and unfortunately many decisions must be made during these very difficult times in our lives. At the Tri-State Cremation Center, we appreciate the opportunity you have given us to assist you through some of the most challenging days we may ever experience during this earthly journey. We pride ourselves on being honest, professional, sincere, and whenever possible, meeting you directly in the midst of these turbulent situations with the pure heart of a servant. We promise to continually strive to treat you as we would want to be treated, and all while keeping our costs down, and our services up, through the process. We want to thank you for trusting us to help you say “Farewell For Now” to your loved one, and we hope that when our mission to serve is fulfilled, that you will truly understand why we say that the Tri-State Cremation Center is Where Honesty, Value and Service Meet!
The goods and services shown below are those we can, and cannot provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal, or other requirements, mean that you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Payment for our services is due upon the time of our final arrangement meeting, after your loved one has passed, and we gladly accept cash, check, or credit card.
Basic Services of Funeral Director, Staff and Overhead – $ 1,800.00
Our services include: the transfer of your loved one from their location of death to the crematory; conducting of the arrangements conference; preparation and filing of the death certificate with the State and Social Security; the composition of a uniquely personal obituary for publication; obtaining the necessary cremation authorizations and permits; a standard alternative cremation container; a register book, memorial envelopes and an urn for display, burial or scattering; coordinating with outside third parties when necessary (you will be financially responsible for all 3rd party charges); and assistance in arranging any type of memorial services you desire. In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs.
This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations).
We are also honored to offer a 5% discount to all active/retired military, police, and fire personnel.
Embalming – Not Available
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement, such as direct cremation or immediate burial, which does not require you to pay for it. At the Tri-State Cremation Center, we do not offer this service; please contact your local funeral home if you will require embalming to complete your desired funeral service, and they will be able to assist you.
Transfer of Your Loved One’s Remains from Their Location of Death (within 25 mile radius) – $ 0.00
Transportation beyond this radius will incur a charge of $ 2.50 per loaded mile. Also, if your loved one passes away in location far enough away (outside Dubuque, Jo Daviess, or Grant Counties) where we may potentially have to ask another funeral service provider in that area to assist us, there may be additional charges from their involvement. We will do our absolute best to control any additional costs, and our deepest apologies when we simply cannot.
Staff Facilitation of a Visitation, Funeral, Memorial or Celebration Service – $ 200.00
This charge includes us arriving early to assist in the set-up of your event. We will arrange the register table with the register book, memorial envelopes, pens, memorial envelope basket, tissues, mints, and name tags. We will help arrange flowers, chairs, tables, and any other logistics to help your event go well. We will be present to assist with crowd control and any questions or needs you, or your guests may have. We will help organize family, friends, and clergy when it’s time to be seated, we will usher when needed, we will assist with any committal services at the cemetery and overall attend to every detail we can so that you don’t have to worry about them yourself. We will bring our professional experience and personal touch to your event from beginning to end.
