To honor Betty’s life, a visitation will be held from 12:00-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Church, 1425 Iowa Street in Dubuque. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Betty’s family.
Betty was born on October 13, 1933, in Dubuque, IA, the oldest of four daughters to Tim and Helen (Smith) McCoy. She was united in marriage to Robert Griffin on March 29, 1952. They were blessed with six children of their own and spent a few years in New London, CT, before returning back to the Dubuque area and settling in Dickeyville, WI.
Betty spent the majority of her working years side by side with her sister, Pat Broessel at their Patricia Bridal Boutique. She eventually retired from Barnstead Thermolyne. Betty was also a devoted volunteer in our community and proudly served on the board for Crescent Community Health Center.
In her free-time, Betty enjoyed traveling whenever possible and exploring new places. She was also naturally gifted in the kitchen and always enjoyed making her famous Betty Spaghetti and New London Grinders for family and friends. Those who knew her best were quite aware that the holiday season was among her favorite time of the year as she could share her holiday candies and fudge with all of her loved ones. We are going to miss Betty dearly and can only hope that the beautiful memories she leaves behind will help to heal our broken hearts in time. Thank you, Betty, for always giving so much of yourself and allowing your love and light to shine vividly among the world around you. May the Lord bless and keep you until we all meet again.

It is with sincere sympathy that we extend our condolences for your loss. We pray that you will find healing, comfort and peace through our Lord Jesus Christ who loves you beyond measure!
Death is something we will all encounter and if we don’t make a decision now before we die, about giving our lives to Him, we will face serious consequences for rejecting Him and His love for us, after our departure from this world. Jesus paid a tremendous price for us by taking the wrath of God on the cross, on our behalf, for our sins and rebellion against God. God, being our Creator, sent Jesus, His Son, to lay down His life for us, so we would never have to face God’s eternal judgement once we leave this earth. Death is not the end for any of us. We will all live on, but where is determined by whether or not we surrender our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ who is the only way to God the Father and to our salvation from sin, death and destruction. Jesus is only a prayer away. A simple prayer like “Lord Jesus, I believe you are God’s Son who He sent to pay the price for my mistakes, sins, and rebellion against God. Please forgive me for all I have done in rebelling against you, Lord.
I now give and surrender my life to you and ask that you be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me from God’s eternal judgement and allowing me to now be a part of you and your royal family forever. In your name, I pray. Amen. ” God bless you and keep you always during this hour of your grief. I pray you will realize that you’re never alone when you’re in Christ Jesus. His Word guarantees us He will never leave or forsake us.
My sincere condolences to the family and many friends of our dear Betty. I will always remember her kindness and love for me. May she R.I.P. Much love and prayers to all of you,
