Phyllis Ann Honecker

Phyllis Ann Honecker, age 78, of Platteville, WI, completed her earthly journey on October 13, 2025, at UnityPoint-Finley Hospital.  Per Phyllis’ wishes, there will be no public services.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Phyllis’ family.

Phyllis was born on July 12, 1947, in Rockford, IL, the youngest of three daughters to Roy and Marian (Getts) Thorpe.  She grew up with a spirited sense of adventure and a deep devotion to family.  Phyllis spent her working years as an executive secretary for the Sjostrom & Sons Construction Company in Rockford.  She always enjoyed her work and made many lasting friendships throughout her years of service.

Phyllis was a woman of vibrant tastes and heartfelt joys. She adored the changing colors of autumn leaves and found delight in decorating her home with warmth and creativity. Her love for tropical places and cruising was unmatched — always drawn to the rhythm of waves and the serenity of sun-drenched shores. In keeping with her wishes, her ashes will be scattered in a tropical location she cherished, a final voyage befitting her radiant spirit.

She was a proud and loving grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed enriching their lives with affection, humor, and unwavering support. Her bond with them was deep and joyful, and they were a constant source of pride and happiness.

In recent years, Phyllis made her home in Platteville, WI, to be near her sister. She was lovingly supported by their family and whose care and companionship brought her great comfort and joy.

Phyllis also spent cherished time living in Naples, FL, where her love of coastal beauty and relaxed living flourished. She will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures — especially those involving sunshine, sea, and seasonal beauty.  We will miss her dearly and thankfully she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and tropical dreams.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved middle sister, Susie Klickman.

Phyllis’ family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Finley Hospital for all of their professional and compassionate care.
