Robert E. “Bob” Valentine, age 92, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on September 7, 2025, at Bethany Home while surrounded by his loving family. To honor Bob’s life, a Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 3685 County HHH in Kieler, WI. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Bob’s family.
Bob was born on December 31, 1932, in Rockford, IL, a son to Nickolas and Hilda (Pearson) Valentine. He was gifted with a strong work ethic and a devotion to his family and friends which was truly relentless. Bob was blessed to meet his first wife, Rozita Timmerman, and the two were united in marriage for over 20 years before she was sadly called home ahead of him in 1973. Bob was fortunate enough to find love again and married his second wife, Joan (Leibfried) Lucas, where the two of them made many new adventures and memories together through life’s journey. Bob worked at the Dubuque Packing Company for over 30 years and found time to run Valentine’s Bar in Kieler and later Valentine’s in Dickeyville. He faithfully put in the hours and built a legacy which continues to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Bob and Joan discovered their love for traveling together early on. They spent many years wintering in Tucson, AZ, before making it their home. They eventually moved back to Kieler to be closer to family and friends. The last 6 years have been spent at Bethany Home living the life of leisure. Bob lived life more on the reserved side and was always ready with a smile and a firm handshake. It’s been a wonderful 92 year adventure that Bob was able to enjoy and not only was his life a full one, but the love of so many family members around him really made it all a guy could hope for. We will miss Bob greatly and are forever grateful for the memories he leaves behind. Thank you, Bob, for being a great husband, father, grandfather and friend and may the Lord keep you safe in His loving arms until we all meet again.
