Benjamin M. “Ben” Duggan

Benjamin M. “Ben” Duggan, age 24, of Maquoketa, IA, formerly of Dubuque, completed his earthly journey suddenly on March 31, 2024, at home.  To honor Ben’s life, a Remembrance Gathering for family and friends will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the American Legion Hall, 1306 Delhi Street in Dubuque.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Ben’s family.

Ben was born on June 5, 1999, in Omaha, NE, a son to Jay P. and Sunny J. (Rose) Duggan.  The family eventually made their way home to the Dubuque area where Ben was able to enjoy some of his favorite outdoor activities.  Anything outdoors, and especially an afternoon on the river, whether with a fishing pole in hand, or a jet ski full of fuel, Ben was sure to enjoy every minute of the afternoon under the sun.  He was a people person at heart and an evening of bowling with friends, or a little time in the kitchen preparing a delicious meal for those around him were also welcome ways to spend his time.  Ben always enjoyed a little music playing in the background, but his greatest joy was surely the time he spent painting with his Dad.  He was recently working at Plastics Unlimited in Preston and enjoyed the friendships he had been developing during his time there.  Ben faced each new day, and the challenges which came along with them, with a kind heart and an infectious sense of humor.  It’s truly impossible to imagine a world moving forward without our dear Ben walking beside us and we can only hope that in time some semblance of peace and healing will be found, but for now, we’ll simply battle each minute and the heartache each one carries until we can discover those moments.  Thank you, Ben, for leaving behind some good memories for us to treasure in the short amount of time the Lord was gracious enough to share you with us and may you now find peace from your earthly battles as we wait patiently to see your sweet smile once again, only this time while residing in eternal perfection.
