Chrissy A. Mohr

Chrissy A. Mohr, age 44, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey suddenly on August 13, 2022, at home.  To honor Chrissy’s life, a private family Celebration of Life is being held.  Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Chrissy’s family.

Chrissy was born on April 6, 1978, in Dubuque, IA, a daughter to Terrance “Terry” Roussel and Donna (Kunkel) Kara.  Chrissy was raised by her 2nd father, Jerrold “Jerry” Mohr as she began her life’s journey through childhood into adulthood.  She had a perpetual smile that was as contagious as her love for everyone around her, especially her nephews.  Chrissy was an exquisite extrovert who thoroughly enjoyed socializing and visiting with anyone who would listen.  She also had a naturally gifted artistic and decorating side which complimented her working hours with J & J Consignment and St. Vincent De Paul.  She also spent time investing her time and talents with Hy-Vee in her earlier years which helped to develop even more friendships along the way.

Chrissy had an affinity for thrifting whenever possible; she was always on the lookout for décor and crafts to feed her artistic creativity and searching for her next favorite leather jacket to add to her collection. She also had an incurable passion for her Chevy truck and a never-ending love for her dog Sammi Jo, which they were her pride and joy.  She always took the time to enjoy the finer moments in life which really counted and tried to make the most out of each day she was presented with.

Our hearts break beyond measure at the mere thought of losing our beautiful Chrissy so early in life.  Her love and light will continue to shine brightly and endlessly without our hearts and minds as we simultaneously search for some peace and understanding to reconcile her absence from our lives.  The depth of our pain is indescribable, but we trust that the Lord will keep Chrissy safe in His loving arms until we see her again.

Thank you, Chrissy, for leaving behind so many wonderful memories for us to treasure and for reminding us that each day we have together is nothing short of a miraculous gift which is never to be taken for granted.  We will miss and love you forever dear!

I first met Chrissy when she attended St. Anthony grade school where I was a teacher. Her joyful spirit and beautiful smile were gifts she freely shared with everyone. I later connected with her as I too love thrifting. She was always so caring and welcoming. I send prayers for strength and a sense of hope for all who loved her. She was truly a light for many.
