Daniel E. “Dan” Reynolds

Daniel E. “Dan” Reynolds

Daniel E. “Dan” Reynolds, age 72, of Galena, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL, completed his earthly journey on January 15, 2026, at home while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Dan’s life, a private family Celebration of Life is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Dan’s family.

Dan was born on January 25, 1953, in Chicago, IL, a son to Richard E. and Doris M. (McElmeel) Reynolds.  He was a man who had a deep love and appreciation for family and friends, always gave his best and lived his faith-life with devotion and determination.  He was united in marriage to his soul-mate, Debra “Debbie” Reynolds, on November 2, 2002.  They were blessed with many wonderful years together and a love that deepened with each passing year.

Dan was a finish carpenter for over 50 years and owned Reynold’s Carpentry until he eventually retired in April of 2021.  He was a naturally gifted carpenter who possessed a keen eye for details.  He was also quite generous with his time and talents when others had projects they were working on.  Dan was always ready to share his knowledge and abilities and never met a vision he wasn’t able to help bring to fruition.

In his free-time, Dan made it a point to enjoy life.  Having a balance between work and recreation was evident.  He enjoyed being outdoors so if the opportunity arose to squeeze in a round of golf, slip into his ski boots, or perfect his stand-up paddleboarding skills, he was all in. Dan and Debbie shared many adventures together camping, hiking, and backpacking in the national parks.

Dan also took his faith-life seriously and started the day with God in the forefront.  He made it a point to learn more about the Lord by studying the Bible and developing relationships with other men of faith.  He appreciated being mentored and sought out the opportunities to encourage others in their faith in Christ.  We are going to miss Dan’s humble heart, welcoming smile and genuine character.  His light may now be absent from our physical lives, but thankfully his spirit lives on today in the presence of his Lord and Savior while the legacy he leaves behind will help to remind us that each day is a gift to be used with purpose.  Thank you, Dan, for your testimony of a life well lived.  The Lord will keep you safe in His loving and grace-filled arms.
