to all of Darrel’s family. you have my deepest sympathy in the passing of a great man in you son, brother, friend, grandpa. in my eyes he was a great man and I was proud to be a good friend of Darrel’s.
it is with much sadness that I have lost a great friend.
I shall always remember him as a friendly face around town, a person that would help out anyone any time and never ask or want a dime for his troubles. was a great promoter of East Dubuque and will be sorely missed at their many festivities. we all have our demons and he was not without fault but was a great man. finally he will be able to see his grandson all the time.
I shall keep him in my prayers till I die.
    wishing you all the best
