Dennis Maurice “Denny” Germain

Dennis Maurice “Denny” Germain

Dennis Maurice “Denny” Germain, age 76, of Granada Hills, CA, formerly of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on June 14, 2024, at Ageless Pride in Chatsworth, CA.  To honor Denny’s life, a private family service is being held.

Denny was born on May 29, 1948, in Dubuque, IA, a son to Maurice “Maury” and Betty (Knapp) Germain.  He was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School and went on to honorably serve his country with the U.S. Air Force.  Denny eventually married his high school sweetheart, Linda Shade in 1986.  Denny started his own limousine service in Los Angeles, Ca, which eventually led to him joining the Teamsters and driving for the Hollywood Studios for over 30 years until he finally decided to retire in 2013.  Denny enjoyed his work and treasured all of the relationships and memories he made along the way.  One of his favorite stories was having the opportunity to drive Donald Trump at the studio and afterwards was invited to join him for lunch.  Denny even found his way onto the big screen a couple of times and actually ended up with speaking parts in both “Roots” and “Defending Your Life” which truly made his day.

Denny was a kind and generous soul through and through.  If you were in need and Denny was around to remedy the situation, you could be sure that he would.  All who knew and loved Denny knew quite well that his dog, Bella, was the love of his life.  Their mutual admiration was continually on display and no doubt her heart is as broken as ours is today with Denny’s absence from our physical lives.  Denny really didn’t have time for extracurricular activities as hobbies as most would articulate with his continuous on-call schedule, but when time did allow, cars were where his heart would venture.  He and his father both had a passion for fast sports cars and would spend hours on end talking about their latest find or sightings.  Denny embraced life to the fullest and always kept himself busy making the most out of each day and opportunity which presented itself.  It’s difficult to imagine such a bright and loving free spirit leaving us behind now, but we trust that we will surely see him again and thankfully, completely free of the earthly health battles which we face much too often.  Thank you, Denny, for living life as you dreamed, for giving all that you had, for sharing your amazing sense of humor with everyone around you, and for reminding us that some of the greatest moments in the life are the simple and short-lived ones that really make the lasting impressions.  May the Lord bless and keep you safely in His loving arms until we all meet again.
