Glenn W. “Cappy” Hines

Glenn W. “Cappy” Hines

Glenn W. “Cappy” Hines, age 61, of Guttenberg, IA, completed his earthly journey on May 6, 2025, at home while surrounded by his loving family and friends.  To honor Cappy’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Guttenberg Marina Center near landing 615.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Cappy’s family.

Cappy was born on September 19, 1963, in Oskaloosa, IA, a son to Donald L. and Shirley Ann (Cole) Hines.  He was a quiet and reserved man at his core and valued the simple life of country living much more than the hustle and bustle many choose to chase.  He was a heavy equipment operator by trade, but did venture into the logging industry for a time.  Cappy wasn’t afraid of an honest days work and always knew that his intrinsic strong work ethic would surely carry him through every adventure he embraced.

Cappy eventually met the love of his life, Linda Kay Sadewasser, and the two were united in marriage on November 2, 1991.  They appreciated many of the same things in daily life and were blessed with many wonderful years together making their mark together on the world around them.

Cappy understood quite clearly that life required balance in order to be a fulfilling journey.  You could often find him out navigating the farm looking for the next arrowhead to add to his collection, or getting a little hunting and fishing in when time allowed.  Each day was an opportunity to enjoy the goodness of God’s creation and Cappy never took a day for granted.  We are going to miss his fun loving nature and interesting conversations indeed, but we are forever grateful for the chance to meet and love Cappy while it lasted.  Thank you, Cappy for keeping life uncomplicated and true for those who knew and loved you and may the Lord grant you the peace you deserve after your long and courageous battle with cancer here on earth.

Those left to cherish the memory of Cappy include,
