Jeanie E. “Jean” Olds, age 78, of Galena, IL, formerly of East Dubuque, IL, completed her earthly journey on September 14, 2023, at the Galena Nursing Home, while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Jean’s life, a private family service is being held. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Jean’s family.
Jean was born on May 14, 1945, in Dubuque, IA, a daughter to Matt and Eleanor “Ellie” (Stofreagan) Kostle. She grew up with an unwavering love for family and friends and treasured each day that presented itself when both were by her side. Jean met the love of her life, Robert Olds, in their younger years and the couple was blessed with many wonderful years together and a family of their own to raise and nurture. Jean enjoyed cooking and spent almost 25 years in the kitchens at The Julien as well as with the Dubuque Community School District. In her free-time, Jean was always up for a little quality time with friends at the bowling alley and any opportunity to simply hang out and visit with her five favorite girlfriends. Jean was always content to enjoy the peace and tranquility at home, but never passed up on a little socializing either. We will surely miss Jean to the deepest depths of our hearts and can only hope to find peace in time with her physical absence from our daily lives. Thank you, Jean, for being exactly who the Lord made you to be and may peace be yours now and we wait patiently to see you again.
