Jerry Bausman

Jerry Bausman, age 92, of Elizabeth, IL, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024. He was married to Annette, his wife of 71 years, until she passed away in 2022.

He was born in Stockton, IL, to Orville and Thelma Bausman. Raised in Mt. Carroll, IL, Jerry moved with Annette to Elizabeth to raise their family. He worked many years at the Elizabeth Garage. Following his retirement, Jerry and Annette opened the Welcome Home Antiques shop where he enjoyed refinishing antiques.

Jerry was involved with the Elizabeth community over the years through his support of the Chamber of Commerce, the Elizabeth Fort, the Masonic Lodge, and the Elizabeth Methodist Church. A significant contribution by both Jerry and Annette was the founding, organizing and support of the annual Ups and Downs bicycle ride. He enjoyed reading, golfing, a good game of Euchre, Bridge or Jokers, and watching the Cubs, Bears and Bulls play. Jerry and Annette loved to camp and travel. Jerry relished the winters they spent in Texas visiting with friends, eating well and soaking up the sun.

Jerry and Annette had 4 daughters: Jen (Dennis) Altfillisch of Morrison, IL, Ann (Barb Sotanski) Bausman of Poplar Grove, IL, Jill (Jim) MacFarlane of Galena, IL, and Beth (Ken) Beckler of Peoria, IL. There are 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Jerry had 4 brothers who preceded him in death: Kenneth, Marvin, Delvin and Carson.

The family would like to thank their extended family and friends for their support, plus the teams at the Galena Medical Associates Clinic and the Midwest Senior Care Community.

The family will hold a private burial service at a later date.
