Robert James “Bob” Hall

Robert James “Bob” Hall, age 74, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on  February 28, 2024, at Stonehill Care Center, while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Bob’s life, a private family service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Bob’s family.

Bob was born on March 26, 1949, in Dubuque, IA, a son to Kenneth James and Virginia Ursula (Casey) Hall.  He honorably spent his years devoting his time and talents to his work and home life and waited patiently for his beloved grandchildren to arrive in his life so he could joyfully fulfill his long-awaited role of Grandpa perfectly.  Bob spent his working career with Copy Systems and eventually retired as manager in 2018 after years of working his way up the ranks through the sales and service departments.  He made countless friends along the way and even took time to stop back and visit from time to time even into retirement.

Bob treasured his time away from work as well.  Anyone who has ever participated in the Annual Dragon Boat Races will know Bob quite well.  Undeniably one of his favorite events of the year and he was always willing to jump in and help support any team he could.  Bob also enjoyed working on his cars and spent immeasurable hours restoring them until his vision had been realized.  The only time he enjoyed more when the time he was able to spend driving them around and savoring the fruits of his labors.  But, truth be told, Bob’s grandchildren were his pride and joy.  He delighted in watching the boys grow each year as they cut his lawn and always looked forward to the weekly visits on the porch after the work was complete.  Bob also made it a priority in his life to set aside extra time for his special date nights with Harlee.  Playing the role of Grandpa was his greatest accomplishment and in the end, Bob understood that every moment they were by his side it became clearly evident in their hearts and minds that he truly loved and adored them.  We are going to miss our dear Bob more than words could possibly depict and we are grateful today for every single memory he has left behind for us to embrace.  Thank you, Bob, for always being the best man you could be, for reminding us that there is always time to take a moment to treat ourselves to a little ice cream, and may the Lord grant you peace now from your earthly battles as we await our eternal reunion with you and your gentle soul.
