Stephanie A. Ohnesorge

Stephanie A. Ohnesorge, age 47 of Dubuque, Iowa completed her earthly journey on January 14, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. To celebrate Stephanie’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Stephanie’s family.

Stephanie was born on March 8,1972 in Iowa City, Iowa, the first of three children to Steven and Karen (Enga) Ohnesorge.  After graduating high school, she worked in food service management (The Ryan House, Papa Sarducci’s, Wendy’s) while obtaining her Bachelors degree from the University of Dubuque, starting with Respiratory Therapy and ending with graphic design & communication. She then spent several years working for State Farm Insurance, and then 9 years with Teleperformance for McGraw Hill (college textbook support).

Her passionate desire was to advocate for those in need and she found opportunities by sitting on the Operation New View Board and volunteering with the Republican Party where she was given a prestigious award by Former Gov. Terry Branstad.

Stephanie suffered a stroke 2 years ago in January, making it through with her mind intact but serious health challenges. Her strong will helped her persevere, looking to have a productive life with the goal of helping others, however, her heart failed her and she passed from this life into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father. Her earthly struggles are over and she is in a joyful place with God and we, her family, have peace knowing that.

I knew Steph the entire time she was active with the Republican Party in Dubuque County. She was a great volunteer, had a wonderful personality, and everyone liked her. I am sure she is working for all conservatives in Heaven.

My heart broke when I learned of your loss! Stephanie was my closest friend all through High-school. We have so many great memories! I remember the day she birthed her beautiful daughter Erin. She was just glowed with happiness! She was there by my side on my wedding day, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Our lives took us down different paths which sadly did not cross again. I can’t believe she is gone!
Stephanie will always and forever have a special place in my Heart. Loved her like a sister!

My thoughts and prayers go out to her parents Steve & Karen, her brothers, her children, grandson, extended family and friends.

    Much Love,

My deepest condolences to the loved ones of my sweet “Steph-O”. She was my partner in crime at the McGraw-Hill call center and for all the years since. Having health issues of my own, I missed out on spending time with her in the last months. We shared a lot of laughs and tears and I had hoped to share many more with her. We had talked many times about collaborating on a book about her life but sadly never followed through on the idea. I know it would’ve been a story for the ages! I am comforted, as I hope you are, by the knowledge that she is safely in The Lords hands and is entertaining the rest of the angels with her seat gripping stories and infectious laugh. I will forever miss her and regret not having more time with her. I hope you, Her loved ones, you keep me in mind if there is ever anything I can do for you. She spoke to me so often, with love and pride, of all of you. God bless you and bring you comfort.
