Mary P. Huberty, age 71 , of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on October 9, 2023, at Dubuque Specialty Care in Dubuque while surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Mary’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Mary’s family.

Margaret “Peggy” (nee. Altman) Brewer, 91, passed away on October 7, 2023, at Oak Park Place in Dubuque, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dubuque Iowa on Friday, October 13th with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am and funeral mass following at 10:30 am. Those wishing to celebrate Peggy’s life are additionally invited to an open house beginning at 2:30 pm at the Dog House Lounge in Dubuque, Iowa. A bag of Doritos and a Diet Coke with no ice will be placed at the bar in her honor. Please join us as we celebrate Peggy with stories, memories and fun.

Jacqueline N. “Jackie” Bardon, age 51, of Durango, IA, completed her earthly journey after a brief illness on October 3, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, with her loving family by her side.  To honor Jackie’s life, a Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at the Church of the Nativity, 1225 Alta Vista Street in Dubuque, IA, with Rev. Andy Upah officiating.  Family and friends of Jackie’s may visit and fellowship for one hour prior to the service at the church.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Jackie’s family.

Kenneth L. “Ken” Pickel, age 85, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on September 29, 2023, at UnityPoint Finley Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Ken’s life, a Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3685 County HHH in Kieler, WI, with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating.  Full military honors will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League along with the active U.S. Army funeral detail following the service.  Per Ken’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  Family and friends are invited to join in food and fellowship at Ken’s Celebration of Life following the mass at Burkey’s Bar and Grill, 10638 Key West Drive in Dubuque.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Ken’s family.

Barbara A. “Barb” Mullady, age 65, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on September 27, 2023, at UnityPoint Finley Hospital in Dubuque with her loving family by her side.  To honor Barb’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Barb’s family.

Ruth Iona Weinbender (Huget) was born April 29, 1924, in Runnymede, Saskatchewan, Canada to the Reverend Rudolf and Emma Huget. She died Monday, September 25, 2023, at Hawkeye Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

Judith B. Wehrle passed away September 25, 2023, at Midwest Senior Community in Galena.  She was born August 13, 1943, in Tampa, Florida, where her father was serving in the Army.  Most of her childhood was spent in Massachusetts until her parents divorced and her mother re-married and moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Both Judith and her younger sister Meredith actively participated in school athletics, particularly tennis.  Judith graduated from Northern Iowa University in 1966.

Peter A. “Pete” Boden, age 57, of Hanover, IL, completed his earthly journey suddenly on September 20, 2023, as the result of an automobile accident.  To honor Peter’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 1:00-4:00 p.m., at Chestnut Mountain Resort, 8700 West Chestnut Mountain Road, in Galena, IL.  A time for sharing of memories will begin at 2:00 p.m. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Peter’s family.

Carole A. Thomas of Chicago and Dubuque died on September 24, 2023, in Dubuque.  Daughter of Edgar Allan and Beatrice Thomas, she was a retired teacher who received her B.A. in 1965 from Mundelein Women’s College.  She received her M.Ed. from Loras in 1978.  Carole taught Language Arts for three years in District 63 in Niles, Illinois, one year at St. Patrick’s Separate School in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, and thirty years at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Dubuque.  She was invigorated by her students whose antics “kept her young.”

Joseph A. “Joe” Hrubik, age 78, of Earlville, IA, completed his earthly journey on September 17, 2023, at Harmony Care Center in Dubuque, IA.  To honor Joe’s life, a private family burial will be held at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Joe’s family.

Isabel A. Lindauer, age 91, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on September 16, 2023, at Stonehill Care Center.  To honor Isabel’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Isabel’s family.

     JoAnn Kaye “Jody” Gassman, 74, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, Sept 13, 2023, at Stonehill Care Center after battling dementia and congestive heart failure. Per her wishes, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest with her parents, Henry and Helen Pfeiffer, in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque. Jeanie E. “Jean” Olds, age 78, of Galena, IL, formerly of East Dubuque, IL, completed her earthly journey on September 14, 2023, at the Galena Nursing Home, while surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Jean’s life, a private family service is being held at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Jean’s family.

In honor of Jan’s passion for bingo, the family is hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 16th, from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm, at the Tri-State Blind BINGO Hall on Cedar Cross Rd, Dubuque.  A deacon’s summation and prayer service will be presented at 1:00 pm with Deacon David Roth from Holy Spirit Parish officiating.

Timothy M. “Tim” Steve, age 67, of Durango, IA, completed his earthly journey on August 27, 2023, at home while surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.  To honor Tim’s life, family and friends are invited to join in fellowship at his Celebration of Life from 2:00-4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in the Packard Pavilion Amphitheater at the Dubuque Arboretum, 3800 Arboretum Drive, in Dubuque.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Tim’s family.

Mae McCarty, age 89, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on August 29, 2023, at Luther Manor in Dubuque while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Mae’s life, her Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Moracco Supper Club, 1413 Rockdale Road in Dubuque. Bradley R. “Bim” Graybill, age 70, of Victorville, CA, formerly of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on August 11, 2023, in San Antonio, TX, with his loving family by his side.  To honor Brad’s life, his services and burial will be held at a later date at the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, jointly with his wife who sadly passed away just months ago.

Sallee S. Bixler, age 88, of East Dubuque, IL, completed her earthly journey on August 21, 2023, at Ennoble Manor in Dubuque while surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Sallee’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Sallee’s family.
